“We have a situation where Netanyahu continues to essentially give the finger to the president of the United States, and we’re sending more bombs,”

US Senator Van Hollen told “This Week” co-anchor Martha Raddatz. 

Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen on Sunday tore into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over what Van Hollen said was Netanyahu’s refusal to acquiesce to President Joe Biden’s requests for more humanitarian action in Gaza amid the war with Hamas.

Despite Biden and other U.S. officials voicing increasing frustration with Netanyahu, the way the Israeli military has and is conducting itself in its war on Gaza and the West Bank’s, the horrific number of civilians killed, and the loud voice worldwide that Genocide is being committed by Israel, the Biden administration has continues sending more weapons to Israel unabated.

Appearing on ABC News’ “This Week,” Van Hollen, a Maryland lawmaker and member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, also said Biden “needs to back up his ‘no excuses’ language with real action.”

“We have a situation where Netanyahu continues to essentially give the finger to the president of the United States, and we’re sending more bombs,” Van Hollen told “This Week” co-anchor Martha Raddatz.

The senator has been a vocal proponent of reconsidering sending offensive weapons to Israel out of concern for the situation for civilians in Gaza and Israel’s expected invasion of Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city, where more than 1 million Palestinians are thought to be taking refuge.

“My view, Martha, is until the Netanyahu government allows more assistance into Gaza, to help people who are literally starving to death, we should not be sending more bombs,” Van Hollen said on Sunday.

Since Hamas’ attack on Oct. 7, more than 32,000 people most of whom are women and children have been killed in Gaza by Israel’s Army and settlers.

Can they finally reclaim their Congress so it starts representing them instead of the special interest that control it.
