Benedict Cumberbatch, Annie Lennox, Gary Lineker, and Dua Lipa are among more than 300 public figures who have signed an open letter calling on Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to “end the UK’s complicity” in Gaza.
The letter, led by refugee charity Choose Love, has been seen exclusively by Sky News and features a range of high-profile names from the worlds of media, arts, and advocacy. It accuses the British government of continuing to allow arms sales to Israel and providing licenses for military equipment, while demanding an immediate suspension of these activities.
This is not an isolated call to action, as similar pressure is being made on other world leaders. In the US, President Trump has faced similar demands from American citizens and celebrities, who have been urging him to take a stronger stance against Israel’s actions in Gaza.
On the subject, MLi Group chairman, and Survivability News Publisher Mr. Khaled Fattal added his voice saying: “Those who wanted to maintain the status quo of Israel’s brutal occupation of Palestinians for almost 8 decades have often used the argument that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is complicated, and that it is a contentious issue. Well, the world has awakened by watching the Israel’s army’s intentional killing of children at mass scale on their mobile phones. Babies with multiple bullets to the head and chest.”
Fattal added: “People around the world have awakened by watching Israeli members of the cabinet talk about ethnically cleaning Gaza from Palestinians. This is not self-defense. This is not contentious. There is a moral duty for all of us who believe in freedom, humanity and justice to rise to pressure their governments to stop all cooperation with Isarel now. I urge President Trump to listen and act. failure to do so will damage Americ and Americans irreparably.”
Many high-profile Americans speaking out against Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. Celebrities such as Mark Ruffalo, Natalie Portman, and Huewell is just a few examples of those who have used their platform to raise awareness about the crisis.

The letter signed by British celebrities today urges Mr Starmer to take immediate action to end the UK’s complicity in Gaza, citing the “intolerable” suffering of innocent children and the inadequate response to the crisis. They also call on the government to provide humanitarian access for experienced aid agencies and commit to brokering a ceasefire.
The letter notes that children in Gaza are starving while food and medicine “sit just minutes away”, highlighting the humanitarian crisis on the ground. The signatories urge Mr Starmer to take immediate action to address this crisis and end the UK’s complicity in Israel’s actions.
This comes as the UK has already suspended 30 arms licenses from around 350 involved in items sold to Israel, following criticism of the country’s military operations in Gaza. Last week, Mr Starmer joined French and Canadian leaders to warn Israel that it will take “concrete actions” if it continues its expansion of military operations.
The letter is a powerful reminder that international pressure can be effective in bringing about change, and that world leaders must be held accountable for their actions
